ARTIST BIO

My work blends fresh, bold colors and detailed vibrancy with uniquely crafted abstract subject matter.  The art highlights a playful fusion of complexity and simplicity, negative and positive energy, all sparked by my life experiences.  I find inspiration in the composition of elements and rhythm of my surroundings, reflecting over 4 decades of art, music and live performance.

 

I have studied fine art throughout my life beginning with the influence of family artists and attending art classes at the John Michael Kohler Art Center in Wisconsin.  I continued my art education attending various group classes at the Art League of Nassau County in New York during the late 1980s and early 1990s.  After graduating high school I studied fine art at the University of Wisconsin.

 

In 2012, after a 10-year hiatus from painting, I returned to painting in Miami Beach.  The following year I showed my new art during Art Basel Miami 2013.  This led to a collaboration show at GAB Studios in Wynwood and several other events and expos at local restaurants including Soyka, Balans, and Lobo.  Following these showings several pieces were selected for Art Basel Miami 2015 including one for a New York art gallery pop-up event.  In 2017, I had a solo show at Artbition, a Colombian-based boutique in Miami.

 

In 2019 and 2020, several of my paintings were selected by a leading woman’s clothing designer in Miami, Viviana Gabeiras for her 20th-anniversary collection for Petit Pois.  The new art-printed apparel debuted in Las Vegas and then again during the Moda Fashion Industry Trade Show at the Javits Center in New York City.
